Veronica found her passion for supporting students in higher education at a non-profit called Step Up Women’s Network where she worked with high school girls to help them understand and apply to college, while providing opportunities to explore careers through mentorship and internship programs. After receiving her master’s degree in education from the University of La Verne and working in a charter school system for several years, she officially entered higher education at the University of Southern California and served as an academic advisor and assistant director in the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism’s Academic and Advisement Services office. 南加州大学, she served on the First-Generation College Student Task Force which organized the inaugural, 第一代大学生峰会, she was a mentor for First-Generation students and an advisor for the Annenberg Latino Student Association. 最近, Veronica was Senior Director of Student Affairs at Keck Graduate Institute and oversaw Student 可访问性 Services, 学术支援服务, 第九条, 国际学生项目, Student and 太阳2平台 and was a member of the JEDI committee and 7C 公司lusive Excellence Committee. 克里斯汀McVaugh (She/They) is a dedicated professional with a strong commitment to advancing social justice and inclusion. 女仆Hamdallah is a current Masters of Public Policy student at UCLA, 专注于教育政策. 在加州大学洛杉矶分校读本科的时候, Ayah discovered her passion for student mentorship and her interest in advancing equity in higher education. 作为第一代大学生, Ayah experienced firsthand the unique challenges first-gen students often face when navigating unfamiliar academic environments and barriers to opportunities, 因此, motivating her to pursue roles within UCLA’s Academic Advancement Program and UCLA’s CCCP Office where she partook in mentorship and the promotion of accessible support programs to first-generation, 低收入, and historically underrepresented students in higher education. Her experiences in undergrad shaped her desire to foster inclusive and supportive educational systems, 并让她继续攻读硕士学位. 

Prior to becoming the 研究生助理 here at the 机构多样性办公室, Ayah had worked at the Office of Advancement and Communications at Pitzer College. Being able to experience firsthand the impact and opportunities within higher education throughout her different work experiences has been rewarding and impactful, and she is excited to continue her time at the 7C’s during her role at Harvey Mudd.
